Z-Image is 2 credits for a single fixed 2K output — no resolution picker and no quality tiers to weigh up. Its real constraint is that it takes no reference images whatsoever, and attaching one is rejected rather than quietly ignored, so it cannot be used for character consistency or for editing an existing image. Treat it as a plate generator: backgrounds, textures and volume text-to-image work, with Seedream or Nano Banana for anything a reference has to drive.
