What separates the 2.5 line from GPT Image 2 is editing: an edit changes what you asked for and leaves the subject, the composition and the background where they were, so a subject stays recognisable across a long back-and-forth instead of drifting a little with every turn. It takes up to 16 reference images, renders at 1K, 2K or 4K, and handles transparent backgrounds. Credits follow the shape as well as the size, because the model itself costs more to run on square frames: a widescreen 16:9 is 9 credits at 1K and 21 at 4K, a square 15 and 36, and the widest 21:9 starts at 7.
